Enticing aromas of vanilla, honey, and marzipan are deepened by a finish in Madeira casks.
A BIT OF HISTORY…
Built in 1974 in the heart of Speyside, Auchroisk is one of the distilleries that supplies malt for several renowned blended whiskies. It boasts significant storage capacity, housing over 250,000 casks. The name Auchroisk comes from Gaelic, meaning a shallow ford across the red stream.
This is the second whisky released under the Royal Still brand.
Aged for 12 years in casks that previously held Portuguese Madeira wine, this Scotch takes on a brilliant mahogany color. Eugenio Bigliocca carefully selected barrel number #803717A and allowed it to mature in Scotland for 12 years.
To preserve its true character, he chose to bottle this single malt at full cask strength of 58.78% ABV. Given its notably high proof, it is recommended to dilute with some spring water to best appreciate its elegant nuances and complexity.
Auchroisk produced its first single malt in 1978, initially named “The Singleton,” as the name “Auchroisk” proved too challenging for international customers.
